Bart Bechtel
Bart Bechtel
retired from the CIA in 1998 after a lengthy career as an operations and
counterintelligence officer.
Bechtel is a professional instructor and
lecturer. He is a private consultant specializing in security, safety,
management, and marketing. He is also a co-founder of The Sentinel Program®,
a company specializing in surveillance detection and training.
Bechtel's professional involvement in
counterterrorism issues began early in his agency career while posted in the
Middle East. Additionally, he was a team leader for the US State
Department’s surveillance detection team training program contracted by SAIC.
He has a broad background in domestic
and international terrorism matters, crisis management, and issues related
to chemical and biological weapons proliferation. He is experienced in
threat assessment, analysis, and intelligence operations.
Bechtel
has traveled professionally and personally throughout Europe, North America,
Asia, South East Asia, China, Russia and the Mediterranean. He has also
worked extensively with federal, state and local law enforcement, emergency
services, and private security firms.
Bechtel
is a member of the American Society of Industrial Security, the
International Association of Counterterrorism and Security Professionals,
and the Association For Intelligence Officers (AFIO). He is also a lifetime
member and instructor with the National Ski Patrol.
Bechtel
holds a BA in History from Monterery Institute of International Studies and
a Master of Science degree in Intelligence Management.
